アリゾナの砂漠地帯で恐竜の化石の発掘調査を続ける生物学者のアラン・グラント博士（サム・ニール）と古代植物学者のエリー・サトラー博士（ローラ・ダーン）は、突然やって来たハモンド財団の創立者ジョン・ハモンド氏（リチャード・アッテンボロー）に、3年間の資金援助を条件にコスタリカ沖の孤島へ視察に来るよう要請される。視察には、数学者のイアン・マルカム博士（ジェフ・ゴールドブラム）、ハモンド氏の顧問弁護士ドナルド・ジェナーロ、それにハモンド氏の2人の孫、レックス（アリアナ・リチャーズ）とティム（ジョセフ・マゼロ）も招かれていた。島に到着した彼らの目の前に現れたのは群れをなす本物の恐竜たちだった。このジュラシック・パークは、ハモンド氏が巨費を投じて研究者を集め、化石化した琥珀に入っていた古代の蚊から恐竜の血液を取り出し、そのＤＮＡを使い、クローン恐竜を創り出した夢のテーマ・パークだった。グラントたちはこのプロジェクトの未来に不安を感じるが、遅れて来た2人の子供たちと共に、コンピュータ制御された2台の車に分乗して国内ツアーに出かけた。一行は、病気のトリケラトプスに出会った。エリーは恐竜の様子を見るため居合わせた獣医と共にそこに残った。その頃、パークの安全制御を担当するコンピュータ・プログラマーのネドリーは、ライバル会社に恐竜の胚の入ったカプセルを売り渡すために陰謀を企てていた。

The thrilling adventure, most commonly known as "Jurassic Park" launched the long lost dinosaur into pop culture. For many children and adults alike, dinosaurs have always sparked an interest; being one of the first creatures to roam the planet before extinction. The movie "Jurassic Park" gives us an insight into what it would have been like to live alongside such creatures with vicious claws and terrifying rows of teeth! Maybe... to see a dinosaur.. a wish we don't want granted. No doubt, the iconic theme tune is one of the best in cinematic history. Another brilliant screenplay by Spielberg that became a massive blockbuster!
