"The Golden Girls" brought a fabulous and confident image to the notion of aging - gracefully or not! Although the television series was created in the 1980's, it has kept its name on a platform, with relevance to pop culture today. On Ru Paul's Drag Race, "Golden Girls" inspired one of the main fashion challenges and absolutely no wonder! With hilarious and ingenious characters, the television series remains relatable and applicable throughout the years that have gone by. The fact that the comedy is about death is such a disturbing and hilarious choice that ultimately made the television series a cult classic. I adored the fact that the television series introduced the idea that women do not have an expiry date after marriage (a common misconception within society.) The sarcastic comments and lovable relationships between Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia cannot help but make you smile.
