The first Skin series is the best, in my opinion. The show, at first, seems to be one of those classically cliche teenage shows with terrible storyline and even worse acting. Surprisingly, the show is anything but that. The actors, storyline, and acting blend together in perfect harmony to create one of the most realistic and relatable shows I've ever watched. The show perfectly encases what it's like to be a teenager and all the troubles that anyone can encounter. The characters have depth and throughout the show, there is at least one character you can find yourself relating to. As you learn more and more about each character as the series progresses, you find yourself relating to them more than previously thought. The show talks about topics such as eating disorders, drug addiction, and even parental neglect, which can happen to anyone and especially to those in their teenage years. I was hooked the first time I watched it and was in tears by the end of the season. It's an entertaining and funny show with surprising amounts of depth and realness. Although the series is essentially targeted for teenagers, the show is applicable to all age groups and is a must watch for anyone.
