1st of all I never take Rotten Tomatoes seriously. This is a horrible review site! Every time I see a movie that has a bad review on Rotten Tomatoes, it ends up being a good movie and every time they have a great review about a movie, it turns out to be a flop! So I don't get how Rotten Tomatoes comes up with what they do. I don't even try to figure it out anymore. All I know is I check out movies for myself. I'm giving an honest review based upon my experience at the theater. If you're the type of person that wants extreme gore and a dark feel, crapy cinematography, terrible acting and a long-drawn-out story that doesn't go anywhere... this is NOT the movie for you! You notice how I said this is NOT the movie for you? Because this movie has great cinematography a great original storyline based upon the TV series with a dark twist, campy, chilling, thrilling and fun. I don't get how all the bad reviews came about. I don't know exactly what they're looking at, but maybe they just have been too critical about this amazing movie. It might just be their mood. It might be that someone paid them to give a bad review. I had to give it 5 stars because it has to offset all those terrible reviews out there. I'm not sure why, but this movie was entertaining from start to finish! Yes it could be different in various ways and to someone else's liking or whatever else you want to add to it. lol... I like what I see on screen and will not take away from it! Most of us are NOT film makers. Were not directors or story tellers in general we must give credit where credit is due. The director did an excellent job at bringing out the cast. I love Maggie Q and Michael Pena. They did an excellent job! And Maggie still looks AMAZING! How in the world can you get bad acting out of great actors? You simply can't. Now this film has good direction. I must say I'm a movie goer. I've called Oscar worthy performances and nailed it. I called it for Sandra Bullock several months before the Oscars. I also said Spike Lee's gonna get 3 nods at the Oscars and he did and actually won. I even nailed it this time for Renée in Judy! This is not an Oscar film. C'mon... most movies or not. This is what you call a "fun" entertaining movie. If you're in the mood for some light horror (if I could put it that way) with great cinematography, great special effects, great acting and great storyline with some twist. I urge anyone who's in the mood for a campy horror film with those characteristics to see it for themselves. If you are a critical person in general you will not enjoy this movie because I know people who are critical about everything and they cannot enjoy most movies at the theater. I still can't understand for the life of me how certain movies won an Oscar like how can Hurt Locker win over Avatar? Really? And I did ask if anyone seen Hurt locker and most people say, "what is that?" I said James Cameron wife's movie, but they stole the Oscar from him for best picture on Avatar. I'm sure you would agree with me. I know Oscar and this movie is not. This is a good fun movie to watch. You will not be disappointed if you're the type of person who is a movie goer that enjoys just watching good fun movies. Nuff said.
