This movie, while having lots of symbolism about self doubt and jealousy, was an extremely confusing watch. The whole time I was unsure of what was going on, other than knowing Natalie Portmans character desperately wanted to be the star of the show. She worked hard to achieve her goals, but in the end she sacrificed her self to attain something that was not worth the effort she put in. Her transformation can symbolize how giving pieces of yourself away leads to becoming another person entirely. Odd, confusing, but interesting film.
