アメリカ・ニューオリンズでウェイトレスをしているティアナ（声：アニカ・ノニ・ローズ）は、死んだ父との夢だった自分のレストランを持つことを目指して懸命に働いている。ある日、幼なじみの富豪の娘シャーロット（ジェニファー・コーディ）の家で、仮装舞踏会が開かれる。ティアナは、得意料理のベニエを振舞うよう頼まれる。そのパーティーには、マルドニア王国の王子ナヴィーン（ブルーノ・カンポス）が参加することになっていた。ナヴィーンは甘やかされて育ち、仕事もせずに遊び呆けていたので親に勘当され、一文無しだった。彼は音楽で溢れるニューオリンズを訪れ、富豪の娘と結婚することを望んでいた。しかし、魔術師のドクター・ファシリエ（キース・デイヴィッド）の策略により呪いをかけられ、カエルに姿を変えられてしまう。

This movie feels like another Disney classic. It is simply brilliant because it could catch the essence of an old Disney movie, while also adapting it to new demands. A "Disney princess" that is actually a common woman is one of the highlights of the movie. You will love each song and maybe you will search for Evangeline up in the skies.

I loved this take on this classic fairytale. To have a Disney princess film take place in New Orleans, USA was very interesting. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that the way Disney changes up this fairytale is very fun and clever.

What a great movie that brought along long awaited representation in Disney princesses. The story is relatable and a great teachable moment to young viewers. I personally love how the music was so heavily inspired by its setting of New Orleans.
