1983年、婚約したばかりのタミー（シャイリーン・ウッドリー）とリチャード（サム・クラフリン）は、ヨットに乗ってタヒチからサンディエゴまでの旅に出る。ところが出発から2週間後、記録的なハリケーンが2人を襲い、ヨットは巨大津波に飲み込まれてしまう。しばらくして目を覚ましたタミーだったが、ヨットは大破、操縦不能で無線も繋がらない。そんななか、タミーは波に漂うリチャードを発見。だが、彼は大怪我を負い瀕死の状態だった。タミーはセーリングの知識を総動員し、陸を目指すのだが……。

This movie is based on the real story, which makes it even more heart warming and sad. Adrift shows how vicious the ocean can be, but through this shows how big an strong love can be. My hands were clamped the whole time as if I was preying for the couple. How small humans become in the face of the nature.
