I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living, or get busy dying. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

This is one of the best films ever made, and has inspired many films since, including the fantastic series 'prison break'. The film follows the main character, but the other characters in the film are also really interestingly developed. It's set in a prison, and we see different relationships between the prisoners play out. Despite the length of the film, you won't want it to end and are left hanging until the very end of the film. Although the characters are convicts, you really create an emotional attachment to all of them, despite how nasty some of them are.
