ニューヨーク市より営業停止処分をうけたゴーストバスターズが解散して5年の月日が流れた。ある日ディナ（シガニー・ウィーヴアー）の8カ月になる息子オスカーを乗せた乳母車が突然動き出す事件が起き、彼女はピーター（ビル・マーレイ）には内緒で、イゴン（ハロルド・レイミス）に真相解明を依頼する。それを知ったピーターはこれをきっかけにディナとヨリを戻そうと必死になる。やがて彼らは、今は廃止された旧ニューヨーク地下鉄に、スライム化した霊体が流れているのを発見する。しかしこの調査によってニューヨーク市全体が停電してしまう事件が起き、彼らは裁判にかけられることになるが、その時にサンプル収集したスライムからゴーストが現われ、それを退治することでゴーストバスターズは再結成を許可されるのだった。

Compared to the original, this rendition of "Ghostbusters" is kind of disappointing. The cast is still entertaining and does a good job of bringing the story to life, but there is not much of a plot line to speak for. Still, people who really enjoyed the first movie might still find this worth watching if just for old times' sake.

This film is not as good as the original. The story is kind of bland, although it still deals with ghosts. And I guess it's still pretty funny, but I just found it to be lacking when compared to the first film. Definitely worth checking out, but just don't expect it to be as good as the first.
