技術分野最先端の頭脳が集まる都市サンフランソーキョーに住む14歳の少年ヒロは、たった一人の身内である兄タダシを謎の事故で失う。心を閉ざし悲しみに暮れるヒロの前に、突如ベイマックスというロボットが現れる。空気で大きくふくらみゆったりと動くベイマックスは、タダシが開発した、人の身や心の健康を守るケア・ロボットだった。ベイマックスの優しさに触れ、次第にヒロの孤独な心は癒され元気を取り戻していく。そんな中タダシの死に疑問を持ち調べていくうちに、恐るべき陰謀に気付く。ヒロはこれに立ち向かおうとするが、唯一の味方で あるベイマックスはケア・ロボットであるため戦う意欲すらない。実はベイマックスは、タダシからある使命を託されていた……。

This is one of my favorite Disney movies, it’s able to deal with loss in a way that reassures children. I love the characters, the action scenes are well drawn out, and well as the foil between the villain and heroes motivations. Both Hiro and Kabuki Mask are fighting for the same reasons, but through the help of friendship and love, as well as proper grieving, the characters are able to grow, move on, and help others. Plus, Baymax is really cute and funny.
