1988年9月3日、カリフォルニア州サンタローザ。ごく一般的な家庭ですくすくと育っていたケイティとクリスティ姉妹の姿を、父親がホームビデオにとらえている。やがて彼は、姉妹がやっていたおかしな遊びに興味を持つ。ポルターガイスト現象だと考えた父親は、家の中にカメラを設置する。9月24日、ケイティとクリスティは鏡の前にカメラを置き、部屋の明かりを消す。2人は暗闇の中で、“ブラッディ・マリー”と3回唱える。2人はその怖い遊びに夢中で気づいていなかったが、カメラにはある映像が残されていた。

As a huge fan of the franchise, this is one of the best. It lacks the character development of the second one but makes up for this with the most interesting scares in the franchise. If you didn't like the other, this won't convince you otherwise, if you did enjoy them, give this one a shot.
