ある朝。コルター・スティーヴンス（ジェイク・ギレンホール）は列車の座席で目覚める。目の前の女性（ミシェル・モナハン）が、親しげに話しかけてくる。だが、コルターには自分がなぜここにいて、彼女が誰なのかわからなかった。陸軍大尉のコルターは、アフガニスタンで戦闘ヘリを操縦していたはずなのだ。鏡を覗きこんだ彼の眼に映ったのは、見知らぬ別人の顔。所持していた身分証明書には、“ショーン・フェントレス：教師”と記されていた。そのとき突然、車内で大爆発が発生。なす術もなく炎に飲み込まれていった……。

A very interesting premise and very well executed. It basically a science fiction version of Groundhog Day, but with a very sombre concept. The acting aswell is superb, and carry what are just really mediocre characters. The star of the show is the plot though and the constant twists and turns it takes.

Source Code is resourceful in coming up with a fairly fresh take on the time loop stories. Does a decent job of grounding the science fiction plot with some inquiry into identity and meaning of life. Jake Gyllenhaal shines as usual and Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga offer great support. Just enough to rise a bit above the generic sci-fi film threshold.
