田舎町スモールタウンで人間のゲイリー(ジェイソン・シーゲル)と仲良くなったマペットのウォルターは、マペット・ショーの熱狂的なファン。結婚間近のゲイリーとメアリー(エイミー・アダムス)のLA旅行に誘われて、大興奮でマペット・スタジオを訪れる。だが、かつてのマペット・ショーの殿堂は今や訪れる者もなく廃墟のように寂れ。そこには恐るべき石油王の邪悪な陰謀が渦巻いていた。ウォルターたちは、引退して静かに暮らす“ザ・マペッツ”のカリスマ、カエルのカーミットを探し出し、マペット・ショーの殿堂の現状を訴える。ウォルターの熱い思いはカーミットの心を動かし、彼は陰謀を阻止すべく“ザ・マペッツ”再結成を決意。そして世界中に散らばった仲間たちを集める旅が始まった。

This is a cute and thoroughly fun movie to bring back the Muppets. You will be entertained, regardless of whether or not you know the Muppets from their original show. In that sense, it's a great family movie that can appreciated by kids, seeing the Muppets for the first time, and their parents.

This was my favorite film of 2014, even beating out Drive. It’s weird because I didn’t even grow up on The Muppets. Something about the music and the way it made me feel for all of the characters definitely hit home and had me bawling at the end.
