13年前に父リチャード(キャンベル・スコット)と母メアリー(エンベス・デイヴィッツ)が失踪して以来、伯父夫婦であるベン(マーティン・シーン)とメイ(サリー・フィールド)に育てられてきた高校生のピーター・パーカー(アンドリュー・ガーフィールド）。彼は、ニューヨーク市警警部キャプテン・ステイシー(デニス・リアリー)の娘で、同級生のグウェン・ステイシー(エマ・ストーン)を密かに慕っていた。そんなある日、ピーターは自宅で父親の残していった鞄を見つける。中には、父の親友であった生物学者カート・コナーズ博士(リース・イーヴァンズ)と父の関わりを記したメモが入っていた。父のことを知ろうと、ピーターはオズコープ社で遺伝子を研究するコナーズ博士を訪ねるが、そこで遺伝子操作の実験中の蜘蛛に噛まれてしまう。その翌日、ピーターの体内で大きな異変が起こり始める……。

I'm not going to lie, this film kind of increased my love of Spider-Man. I know that's probably shocking and blasphemous to some fans of the hero, but it's true. I loved Garfield's rendition of Spider-Man. I feel people get too caught up with how unbelievable Garfield is as Peter Parker, they forget how brilliant he is as Spider-Man. He brings the wit and sarcasm that Maguire's Spider-Man never had. And there are multiple points in the film where I believe Garfield does portray Parker well. But I guess he was too good looking to be Peter Parker for a lot of people.

honestly, I do think this beats OG spider man... unfortunately it was hard to believe that Tobi was a teen in high-school. But with this spider man he appears to be more in the age group, and acts more like it as well.
