Taking the film as to what it is, it’s a fine starter to the entire Star Wars franchise.

After the success of Star Wars Episodes 4, 5 and 6 in the 1970s-1980s, the world was greeted with prequel stories from the infamously talented director, George Lucas. Fans of the Star Wars franchise now had access to the origins of Darth Vader, as a young boy Anakin Skywalker. As a child, I remember this appealed to me as Star Wars never had a child actor predominantly cast and used in the previous films. Fans finally got to meet the amazing and villainous Sith, Darth Maul! Not to mention, performances from two of the most well known Jedi, Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn and Ewan McGregor as a young Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi brought such delight to the fans who anticipated their backstories too.
