A classic children’s movie that brings back nostalgia. Not only are the plot and jokes timelessly hilarious, the film is appropriate for all ages and can be enjoyed by anyone. The movie is filled with positive messages, such as overcoming fears in order to help others and devotion to friends. While it does contain some cartoon violence and scares, the movie subverts the typical movie trope of kids being terrified by monsters. The villain, Randall, also demonstrates how traits such as greed and selfishness are bad. The movie is also an example of how situations can always have more ethical solutions, and is itself a tool that can be applied in real world situations. An adorable movie that is fun for all ages, Monsters Inc will remain a staple for kids and adults who enjoy wholesome animated features.
