SUPERGIRL/スーパーガール <ファースト・シーズン>

A great series that involve the start of the Supermans cousin, Supergirl. This series is the beginning of her new lifestyle on earth and her learning about becoming more human. I like this show because it shows that even a superhero has a weakness.

When I first discovered "Supergirl" I was concerned that the producers and directors would completely ruin her character and not give her the same wow factor that is constantly provided for her cousin and infamous superhero, Superman. Yes, the show still provides viewers with the typical rom-com side story but "Supergirl" dives deep into the action packed and thrilling world of being a superhero. It is very appealing to watch how she deals with her fantasy-style life and her real world. Although, I would say that I wish the first season was not as lighthearted. If the television was more gritty I genuinely think it would be received by more viewers.

I was so worried about this show. Based on the advertisement it made it seem more romantic comedy than superhero show, and I was so upset. Just because its a female superhero doesn't mean it should be a romantic comedy. So glad this was not actually the case. This show had a great amount of superheroing mixed with the protagonist dealing with her real life. It might be a bit more light hearted than some of the other CW superhero shows, but that's what makes it great.

I understand Hollywood wanted to make a series focusing n a female super hero, but supergirl? Of all the female heroes with interesting stories I found this one lacking. I don't think life would change if this series was never made.
