ディック・ハーバー（ジム・キャリー）は、愛する妻ジェーン（ティア・レオーニ）との間に息子ビルをもうけ、幸福な家庭を築き、マイホームも手に入れたうえに仕事ではコミュニケーション部部長への昇進も決定。ところが、グローバダイン社のＣＥＯ、マカリスター（アレック・ボールドウィン）が過去2年で自社株のほとんどを売却しており、経営はすでに破綻していたのだ。さらに、ジェーンが勤め先の旅行代理店を辞職したという知らせ。ディックは「心配するな、再就職の当てはある」と大見得を切るが、現実は甘くない。背に腹は変えられず、ディックはスーパーで、ジェーンはスポーツジムで仕事を得るが、どちらもすぐにクビになる始末。意を決したディックは偶然再会したバスコムから情報を得て、マカリスターから大金を奪う計画を練る。場所は大胆にも、マカリスターが取引をしている最中の銀行内。白昼堂々、実行に移されたディック＆ジェーンのこの計画は成功するのか！？

Dick and Jane is a comedy I didn't expect to do very well. I wasn't sold by the trailers, and another remake is something the world can live happily without. Dick and Jane is an underrated hit though. The movie excellently thanks corporations for its inspiration in the final credits. If you want a good movie to watch and understand a little bit of corporate history, I recommend Dick and Jane for you.

One of those stories that without a particularly strong plot manages to come through in a big way, due to the acting, dialog, situations and direction.

For a movie that advertises "fun" there is definitely a lack of entertainment quality. There are a few funny scenes but nowhere near enough to actually make this a movie worth watching. It is a poor remake of the original.
