17歳になったショーン・アンダーソン(ジョシュ・ハッチャ―ソン)は、危険な海域にある謎の島から遭難信号をキャッチする。その発信源を追跡するため旅に出ようとする彼に、新しい義父・ハンク(ドウェイン・ジョンソン)は、やむなく付き添うことになる。ふたりは唯一ガイドを引き受けてくれたヘリコプター操縦士・ガバチョ(ルイス・ガスマン)と、強い意志を持った彼の娘・カイラニ(ヴァネッサ・ハジェンズ)と共にその島を探し出そうと繰り出す。“嵐の目”を通って彼らは、遂に島を見つけるが、そこに待っていたのはショーンのおじいちゃんで冒険家のアレキサンダー(マイケル・ケイン)だった。そしてこの島こそ、かつてジュール・ヴェルヌが書いた“神秘の島”であった。そこには巨大トカゲや巨大蜂、小さな象などの大小サイズ逆転の奇天烈な生物が生息し、さらに驚くべき秘密が隠されていた。だがその島は衝撃波によって、島とそこに潜む数々の宝が永遠に海底に沈もうとしていた……。

This movie is just ok. I wouldn't be able to easily name the audience this movie is intended for, though. It's a bit too much for young kids, but the story line is so ridiculous that older kids and adults are likely to be bored. There's nothing outstandingly "bad" about it, but it's not likely to entertain, either.

Very good adventure movie! This movie reminds me of a lot of similar treasure finding movies but in this movie the teenager is looking for his missing grandfather in a place no one thought existed. Filled with funny moments and a very good adventure.

Although I have never watched this movie, after reading the overview I feel like this would be a very good movie because it I love adventure movies. This is about a kid who gains a clue from his missing grandfather is now on an hunt to find his missing grandfather.
