レイプ罪により14年間の獄中生活を終えたばかりのマックス・ケイディ（ロバート・デ・ニーロ）は、自分を敗訴に導いた弁護士サム・ボーデン（ニック・ノルティ）に対する復讐を誓い、サムばかりか妻のレイ（ジェシカ・ラング）や娘ダニエル（ジュリエット・ルイス）の前にも姿を現すようになった。愛犬が殺され、サムの愛人ローリー（イレーナ・ダグラス）が襲われるが、マックスの犯行とは認められない。ダニエルにマックスが接近したことを知ったサムは私立探偵カーセク（ジョー・ドン・ベイカー）を雇い、やがて力づくでマックスを町から追い出そうとするが…。

This felt older than some of Scorsese's older films, and i could get why after finding out that this was a remake of 1962's. Anyway, it's funny that this film was released in the same year with the Silence of the Lambs and those two most terrifying villians were competing for Best Actor awards... (I happened to watch the two movies in a row.) What a year 1991 was

Seems like an interesting movie. It’s marked as horror but as I read the description for the movie it sounds more like just a thriller but who knows maybe it’ll be scary since it is a revenge movie.
