6人の優秀な男達の混合の精液と、美しく才能あるメアリー・アン・ベネディクト（ボニー・バートレット）との間に生まれた全知全能の子ジュリアス（アーノルド・シュワルツェネッガー）は、孤島で研究対象として育てられ、35歳の誕生日に自分と双子の兄がいることを知らされるや、彼を探しに旅に出る決意をする。その頃兄のヴィンセント（ダニー・デヴィート）は、高級車を盗んでは売りとばすことで暮らしており、兄弟が再会したのは度重なる駐車違反と免許証の期限が切れたことでヴィンセントが放り込まれていた留置所の面会室だった。弟に罰金を払わせ刑務所を後にしたヴィンセントは、ジュリアスに嘘をついて車を盗み、その帰途恋人のリンダ（クロエ・ウェッブ）と彼女の妹マーニー（ケリー・プレストン）と出会い、ジュリアスとマーニーは親近感を抱きあう。その頃ジュリアスは母メアリー・アンが生きていることを知り、盗んだ車に偶然500万ドルもの品物があるのを見つけ取り引き先のヒューストンに行こうとしている兄を説得し、実験計画の主任トレーブン教授（ネヘミア・バーソフ）の研究所に立ち寄ることを約束させ、リンダとマーニーも加えた4人の旅が始まった。

Twins is a hilarious film and one of DeVito and Schwarzenegger's best films of all. Schwarzenegger is the kind of actor that can act in serious movies and funny movies. He certainly proves he can do that in this movie. And DeVito is just perfect for his role; the two make an unexpectedly great pair. From start to finish, Twins is a hilarious movie that makes your sides ache with laughter.

Although I have never watched this movie, after reading the overview I feel like this would be a very good movie because it's about a story where one twin gets everything while the other gets nothing. This storyline is even sadder since it was caused due to an experiment.

This movie is about a set of twins that were subject to a genetic experiment and then separated. The twins lived in totally different environments and did not even know about each other. As they meet again and get to know each other, there are some funny parts, but it's mostly profanity and an empty plot line.
