メアリー・キャサリンは、研究者の父親と暮らすため、森の奥地にある彼の家を訪れるが、研究に没頭している父親の態度に嫌気が差し、家を出ていこうとする。そんな中、森で瀕死の小さな人間を発見、秘密の国の女王だという彼女から謎の花のつぼみを託されたメアリーは、突然体が小さくなってしまう。女王に仕える兵士リーフマンから、この“生命のつぼみ”が、悪の勢力“ボーガン”に渡ると森が滅びてしまうと聞いたメアリーは、彼らと共に戦うことを決意。森の未来を救うため、“ボーガン”のリーダー、マンドレイクを倒すため、メアリーたちの壮大な冒険が始まった……。

I wanted to enjoy this movie more, especially given its new plot concept (i.e. not a remake) and impressive visuals. However, whatever the plot was, I couldn't figure it out and the characters were nothing special or particularly memorable.

Upon looking at the title and description I wasn't very interested in this film; I then went to my trusted Rotten Tomatoes rating site and found that it got a 65%. This rating isn't bad and I may just watch it the next time I'm in the mood for a light hearted film.
