I'm pretty sure this is a flat-out bad movie. Effects are dated, the plot is contrived and some of the acting is really hammy. But I still enjoy this film. To me, Hugh Jackman can do no wrong, and I like the idea behind this film, of Van Helsing being more than just an expert, of him going around, defeating classic movie monsters. This could be a great film, unfortunately, it isn't. I still enjoy it though.

Van Helsing is extremely entertaining to watch and did not disappoint me. With a complex story, nice effects, fun music, good comedy, and awesome action scenes, this movie is sure to please for those who love fantasy and science fiction.
