高校生アンディ（モリー・リングウォルド）の父ジャック（ハリー・ディーン・スタントン）は妻が家を出て以来、転々と職を変えており、娘にいつも尻を叩かれている。アンディの悩みは、1ヵ月後に迫ったプロムにエスコートしてくれる相手のこと。彼女はアルバイトでイオナ（アニー・ポッツ）が経営しているレコード店で働いている。客のハンサムな青年ブレーン（アンドリュー・マッカーシー）に心ひかれる。彼も同じ高校に通っていて、デートを申し込まれて大喜び。

This 1980s film is part of the teen chick flicks of the 80s. Blah blah plays who she usually did in her films, a kind of snotty teen who is selfish and in the end gets the guy. I am a huge lover of 80s chick flicks and also pink, but I would not say this is my favorite. I would recommend it because it is considered a classic, but maybe just to my girl friends.
