片田舎で暮らすディーズ（アダム・サンドラー）は、老若男女に愛される町の人気者。そんな彼に、遠縁にあたる巨大企業のオーナーの遺産が舞い込んだ。早速ニューヨークに飛んだディーズを待ち受けていたのは、トップの座をもくろむ企業の重役と、遺産騒動のスクープに躍起になるマスコミ。そんな中、人気TV番組のレポーターのベイブ（ウィノナ・ライダー）は正体を隠し彼に接近、まんまとスクープを手に入れる。ベイブの正体を知らないディーズは彼女を2度目のデートに誘うのだが……。

This looks like a really fun movie. Even though I've never seen it, I've heard friends mention that it's an entertaining sort of fantasy of its own. I'd like to see it for myself and figure out where the interesting plot line leads and what happens with all that money.

Have to admit, this is a guilty pleasure film. If I saw it for the first time as an adult I might not love it as much as I do but I grew up watching this repeatedly and think that it’s really a funny film. From Sandler’s frozen foot that is numb and feels no pain, to Deeds’ butler John Turturro who magically appears everywhere so fast, to the mansion’s water fountains that shoot out Hawaiian punch. Must see if you enjoy Sandler’s films.
