A great action thriller and very understated by Michael Mann. This film shows off Michael Mann’s range but also his affinity for films shot in cities. He turned Tom Cruise into a villain which no one thought was possible. He then made a New York City taxi cab driver the hero of the film. The film builds like a traffic jam, and then begins to unweave itself as it continues.
