잘나가는 IT기업의 홍보맨 딕(짐 캐리)과 제인(티아 레오니) 부부에게 꿈이 있다면 딕의 승진과 제인은 전업주부로 행복하게 사는 것. 착하게 살던 그들에게 딕이 부사장으로 전격 승진하는 기적 같은 일이 일어난다. 이 소식을 듣자마자 제인은 통쾌하게 회사를 때려치우고, 두사람은 곧바로 바베큐 파티, 정원과 수영장 공사 등 지름 모드에 돌입한다. 하지만 최악의 팡당 시츄에이션이 그들을 기다리고 있었으니, 승진한 바로 다음날 회장 잭(알렉 볼드윈)이 주식을 몽땅 팔아치우고 도망가는 바람에 회사가 파산해버린 것!

Dick and Jane is a comedy I didn't expect to do very well. I wasn't sold by the trailers, and another remake is something the world can live happily without. Dick and Jane is an underrated hit though. The movie excellently thanks corporations for its inspiration in the final credits. If you want a good movie to watch and understand a little bit of corporate history, I recommend Dick and Jane for you.

One of those stories that without a particularly strong plot manages to come through in a big way, due to the acting, dialog, situations and direction.

For a movie that advertises "fun" there is definitely a lack of entertainment quality. There are a few funny scenes but nowhere near enough to actually make this a movie worth watching. It is a poor remake of the original.
