Director Raja Gosnell's "Big Momma's House" is actually a contemporary comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed. When the FBI agent, Malcolm Turner, must disguise himself, this creates a clever and hilarious film that touches upon the fabulous art form that is drag. Using his trick up his sleeve as a chameleon to disguise himself as a Southern granny, also known as Big Momma, audiences could not help but love the plot and the investigation with such a hilarious disguise as one of the toughest and soulful Mommas on the block.

If you are a fan of just a fun comedy then I would recommend this one to you. Yes it is no Oscar winning masterpiece, but it's filled with stereotypical humor. An undercover cop playing a stereotypical black grandma brings the consistent laughs.

Martin Lawrence as a fat grandma. With a plot like that you know you are not going to get an academy award contender. It still pretty okay though. Occasionally funny, though the plot is very contrived. You could do worse really.

This film is really really funny, and paved the way for the next films in the franchise. It is all about a CIA officer who is told to get involved in criminal case where he believes that the girlfriend of a big time criminal knows more than she's letting on. He then has to dress up as a big black woman and act like one to, which is hugely stereotypical, but hilarious.
