로버트 맥두겔(Robert MacDougal: 숀 코너리 분)은 유명 화가 및 위대한 예술가들의 고가의 작품만을 골라서 훔치는 도둑으로 유명하다. 뉴욕의 렘브란트 작품 도난 사건 때도 그가 유력한 용의자로 지목되었으나, 증거를 남기지 않는 그의 능숙한 솜씨는 그의 범행을 아직도 전설로만 남아 있게 만든 사람이다. 아름다운 미모를 겸비한 도둑 버지니아 베이커(Gin Baker: 캐서린 제타 존스 분)는 맥두겔 때문에 램브란트 그림 도난 사건으로 졸지에 2천4백만 달러라는 거액을 손해 보게 된다. 버지니아 베이커는 보험회사 조사 담당관인 크루즈(Cruz: 윌 패톤 분)의 제안으로 미술품 전문털이범 맥두겔에게 접근한다. 맥과 베이커는 함께 범행을 모의, 베르포드 성의 가면무도회에 참석, 귀한 중국가면을 훔친다. 그러나 맥두겔의 진짜 목적은 훔친 가면을 그린(Conrad Greene: 모리 체킨 분)이라는 사람에게 건네주고 그 대가로 말레이시아 국제 은행을 털기 위한 암호를 얻으려는 것이다. 두 사람은 밀레니엄의 새해를 몇일 앞두고 말레이시아로 날아간다. 마침내 밀레니엄 밤 밀레니엄 버그를 방지하기 위해 은행의 컴퓨터를 잠시 멈춘 사이 맥과 베이커는 수십억 달러의 돈을 계좌 이체 시키는데 성공하는데.

Entrapment was quite enjoyable to watch and had a lot of good parts to the movie. Sean Connery was, as always, excellent in his role and the cinematography. In a way, it's a bit of a shame because it's a decent heist movie with a good plot and pretty good acting. It all gets overshadowed by the Catherine Zeta-Jones laser scene that guys will be thinking about for days.

Although this movie is pretty old, I consider it a classical type of movie. It still draws you in with its thriller methods and it is still pretty interesting to even this date. I highly recommend this movie because it can give you a perspective that you won’t see nowadays.

This movie was not shot well in terms of its plot as well as their actors. The plot lacked cohesiveness and was all over the map. The action scenes were too cliche and followed the plot of many other action movies before it, which makes this movie dull and unexciting.
