this film is a hard feeling for someone like me to really interpret and talk about. it's no secret that people who know me that knows that I have a severe daddy issues and is hard for me to really bring that up or even let alone try to talk about. but this will be drugged up a lot of things that I thought I never would really feel like that or let alone even think about or giving the time of day really. Honey Boy is a creative and imaginative telling of what feels was both therapeutic and very hard for Shia LaBeouf to tell. He plays his dad who's both angry and dependent on his son who is living the life he wishes he had. He really is the thing that gives the film purpose and it's emotion. You hate him but at the same time understand why he is who he is and doesn't feel like he should change but knows he should not for himself but his son as well. Noah Jupe gives a performance you feel is really innocent but at the same time mature for a 12 year old boy. the dad issues hit me in the heart. this was hard for me to watch. I'm sorry to Shia LaBeouf for all the harsh words I've said. I'm honestly surprised the academy overlooked this and how it flew out of people's radars of the best of 2019. This definitely made my top ten and I'm feel better knowing I'm not alone having the issues I have with my father and how I can move on from it. I totally recommend this as it was satisfying from beginning to end. Tho the ending does feel abrupt. 9.1/10
