Although the tale told with in this film was mildly predictable, I feel that this was a failure of the genre not the writing. Ryan Reynolds performance in this movie was excellent! We also got to see some skillful execution of realistic versions of childhood favorite Pokémon in a mildly gritty setting. The most important aspect of this movie was that it was entertaining to watch although a little flat in full character development.
