1985년 라지필드, 어릴 때부터 이 곳에서 살고 있는 로비(애덤 샌들러)는 매형의 지하실에 살면서 결혼식 축하 노래를 부르는 가수로 일하고 있다. 일찍 부모을 여윈 탓에 항상 결혼하고 싶다는 욕망을 간직한 로비는 린다라는 자유분방한 여자와 결혼할 예정이다. 그러나 결혼식 날 린다는 결혼식장에 나타나지 않고, 로비는 웃음거리가 된다. 그 후 어떤 결혼 피로연에서 웨이트레스로 일하는 줄리아(드류 배리모어)를 만난다. 그녀는 2주일 후 글렌이라는 남자와 결혼식을 올릴 예정이다. 그러나 글렌은 증권가에서 일하는 돈 많은 바람둥이로 단지 결혼 상대로 편하다는 이유만으로 줄리아와 결혼하려고 한다.

Another Adam Sandler stamped romantic comedy of the 1990s. "The Wedding Singer" is by no means original but I guess it was a sweet and easy watch. Even though I do not love the movie, I am glad it launched Drew Barrymore into the spotlight to bring her bigger and better things in the film industry.

In my opinion, Adam Sandler’s most underrated film. It really is a treat because it shows off his talents as a dramatic actor, as well as a comedic one, with a really well constructed 80s backdrop. I love this film and the chemistry between him and Drew Barrymore is truly believable.
