제시는 12살의 나이에 입양되어 새 가족의 품이 영 어색하기만 하다. 여전히 혼자라는 생각에 사고뭉치가 되어버린 제시는 결국 경찰에게 붙잡혀 수족관 청소를 하라는 벌을 받게 된다. 그리고 그곳에서 발견하게 된 범고래 윌리. 그동안 조련사들의 말을 듣지 않아 골치였던 윌리에게 제시는 동질감을 느낀다. 서로의 아픔을 공유하며 윌리와 제시는 점차 우정을 쌓아간다. (제9회 서울국제프라이드영화제)

Such a touching movie. A little bit overdramatized but still a good movie- it puts a twist on the stereotypical "boy and his dog" theme and instead substitutes a whale. It will make you want to join all the ocean environmental movements.

This movie was one of my favorites as a kid. To see a friendship between a boy and a whale grow especially when it comes to “villains” coming into the way of the friendship. This movie leaves a lot of good memories from the past!
