Netflix marked this for kids. This is NOT for kids. It's set against the world wars and it's loss and grief and anti-fascism. All these themes and the (somewhat dark, disconcertingly) beautiful stop-motion art are painstakingly executed, which I suppose is what makes it stand out amongst so many other retellings.
