The antagonists don’t have a clear side, so this movie avoids controversy. It really is a movie about journalism.

Civil War was as much of a slog as trudging through the war zones it depicts. Though it displays the raw brutality of war, we do not get much in the way of character development through their journey toward a climax that has a similar lack of depth. This film is worth a rent if there is nothing else available but it is not a theater ticket I would pay for.
