Not as good as the prequel. Although funny new characters are introduced to the group, the movie falls short in providing a reasonably good moment. It may be nice to look at minions one more time and to see Gru finding a partner. Besides that, however, the storyline is just monotonous.

I really enjoyed this film, and I liked it probably more than the first. The same lovable characters are included in the film, but they also added in a few extras and even give Gru a love interest. Gru must work for the forces of good instead of evil, and work alongside his spy friend. The girls are just as cute as before, but their characters do develop. I really enjoy the animation in the film as well and the creativeness that the producers manage to create. It's also quite rare to find a film that appeals to both children and adults, but I think that it really is meant for both audiences. The minions find themselves in trouble as usual, but that also adds to the fun and keeps a continuous theme running through all the films.

I wasn't sure Despicable Me 2 was going to be good seeing as how much I really enjoyed the first one. But the introduction of a new girl character changed my mind and added a new depth of romance into this movie. I loved the first one more but the second one is really not too far off. I watched this in the movie theaters and would recommend. Suitable for kids of all ages!
