One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
I love this film because it is one of the few films that is older that truly stands the test of time. It doesn’t really on effects, social commentary of the time, or big elaborate pieces that may be trendy at a given time. This film relies on its strong foundation, which is its characters. We fall in love with Jack Nicholson’s who is perhaps wrongly admitted into a mental institution. It is about his struggle to fit in, justify his situation, and find purpose in a life that seems like a prison. It serves as a microcosm is living in a society. It makes the viewer question what dictates certain labels. Aren’t we all mad to a certain degree?!
